A COMPARATIVE STUDY BETWEEN CYSTIC DUCT CLIPPING AND LIGATION IN LAPAROSCOPIC CHOLECYSTECTOMY

Background: Laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) nowadays is the standard treatment for gallstone disease. In laparoscopic cystic duct and artery are usually secured by titanium clips there other methods securing like intracorporeal ligation or harmonic scalpel. application of shown to have some complications. Objective: compare suture versus clipping in terms efficacy safety operation time. Patients methods: A Prospective study included (60) patients who were admitted El-Sayed Galal Hospital undergo elective symptomatic gall bladder stones. divided into groups (A, B). Results: Mean operative time group was 50.87 min. B 55.73 There a mean difference about 5 min increased with p-value (0.141) that statistically insignificant. Conclusion: Suture vicryl 2/0 safe, effective cost-effective alternative clips, especially developing countries non-functioning clip applicators has an advantage case wide duct.

Careful dissection of the liver bed was done and the duct clipped preventing a bile leak.
